City of Miracles: Stories From the Crowd

Nottingham Contemporary is co-hosting City of Miracles, a celebration of the glory years of Nottingham Football from Sat 19 - Mon 21 September, in partnership with Nottingham City of Football and Nottingham Post.

The exhibition comes just weeks before the eagerly anticipated premiere of I Believe in Miracles, a Nottingham-made film which opens nationwide in October. The film, directed by Jonny Owen and made at Antenna, offers a window into the glory years of Nottingham Forest, when the team won two successive European Cups under legendary manager Brian Clough.

Nottingham Contemporary has worked with Nottingham Post to capture fans' own images of the era, which will be projected at huge scale. The celebration will showcase film of half a million people welcoming the European Cup into Nottingham, images that capture the mood and social history of the period, as well as specially created images of the European Cup era Forest team by leading sports illustrator Pete McKee.

Nottingham Forest's European Cup will also be in the building, along with a selection of iconic memorabilia from that time.
