Females encouraged to attend City of Football Celebration

19 December 2016

Calling all females for our Reclaim the Pitch Celebration evening...

Nottingham City of Football is hosting a ‘Reclaim the Pitch’ Celebration Night to celebrate the success of female football in the area.

The event is one year on from the original ‘Reclaim the Pitch’ evening where England and Notts County defender Laura Bassett launched the first women’s only football night in Nottingham.

Since then, more women and girls are playing football locally and this anniversary event will celebrate the success of the Nottingham City of Football female sessions.

The event will take place from 6-8pm on Tuesday 17th January and the Forest Sports Zones and all females are welcome to attend.

The night is set to include a 16+ Female Football Fives Tournament, and an Over 25s non-competitive Round Robin Tournament. Nottingham City of Football also encourages all U’16’s to come and get involved in the event.

Attendees are able to try out a fusion of dance and football with a Joseph Hall Footy Fit taster session, whilst there will also be Women’s Walking Football for females aged 55 and over. A special guest appearance is still to be confirmed, and there will also be live music throughout the evening.

Amanda Chambers, Managing Director at Nottingham City of Football said: “It’s a great way for females of all ages and abilities to get in involved in football and we are delighted to be hosting this event one year on from the launch night.

“It was a fantastic event last year and hopefully we will have lots of women and girls attending the evening this time around.”
