Football for All: Disability Football in Notts

22 January 2016

Football is for everyone, no matter what their level of ability. Read on for disability football sessions happening in Notts...

We’re often asked what it takes to play football – whether you need to be tall, fast, or be able to jump high. These questions make us laugh a bit, because it makes football sound like some really difficult activity that requires you to be a sort of, well, superhero.

You might be surprised to know that there are no limitations or special requirements needed to enjoy playing football. You just need to be up for having a laugh.

Nottingham and the surrounding areas offer plenty of opportunities to get on the football field and score some goals, whatever your level of ability. Nottingham City Council organise regular disability football sessions for both children and adults. How good is that?

Join the Nottingham Wheeled Warriors every Monday 5pm-6:30pm at the all new Harvey Hadden Sports Village (5+, adults) or head to Aspley's YMCA every Tuesday 5pm-6pm for their Football Club (11+).

Want 2 Play FC is an initiative sponsored by several football clubs that provide children with disabilities the opportunity to get into the game. You’ll find the activity schedule for each club in the Nottingham area right here.

You can also check out the City of Football Facebook page for regular updates on upcoming sessions in Notts.
